Walking In Your Calling With Amy Broderick

Some people spend years climbing the career ladder only to realize success doesn’t always equal fulfillment. That was the story for Amy Broderick, founder of Walk In It, who left corporate leadership to step into something bigger—helping others discover and live out their true calling.

Amy and I go way back, and every time we sit down together, wisdom flows. This conversation was no different.

From Corporate to Calling

After years in the hospitality industry, rising to senior leadership roles, Amy started to feel an unease. The work was good, but it wasn’t stretching her. She wasn’t learning anymore. And more than that—she felt pulled toward something else.

The phrase “Walk In It” comes from Isaiah 30:21, a verse that nudged Amy to consider how she could help people not just succeed in work, but thrive in their God-given purpose.

Her mission now? Helping women (and men, too) step into leadership, uncover their talents, and align their passions with the work they do every day.

A Passion for People

Amy’s gifts have always centered around hospitality—making people feel seen, welcome, and valued. But she’s expanded that gift into new spaces:

  • Leadership & Calling – Guiding women to find their place and voice.
  • Sales Consulting – Teaching that sales is less about pitching and more about building relationships.
  • Hospitality Training – Showing organizations that kindness and welcome should be at the heart of every experience.
  • Mentoring Students – Partnering with young entrepreneurs in Sumner County to dream big, launch ideas, and build confidence.

She lights up when she talks about the next generation. Watching a high schooler’s business idea take off, or seeing the light bulb go on in a classroom, gives her energy and hope.

Lessons from the Journey

Amy’s honesty is refreshing. She shared how easy it was to get caught up in titles and tasks during her corporate career, sometimes at the expense of pouring into others. She’s also wrestled with labels—like being called “bossy” or “strong-willed.”

Now, she sees those traits as strengths. Persistence. Vision. Determination. The very qualities that make her a pioneer. Instead of suppressing them, she’s learned to steward them.

Her reminder: the assignment may change, but the calling stays the same.

Filling Up to Pour Out

Leaving corporate America gave Amy space to breathe again. She’s devouring books, surrounding herself with wise women, and digging deep into scripture. That growth fuels her so she can pour out into others.

Because, as she says, good work isn’t about self—it’s about showing up with integrity, serving others, and helping them see their own God-given gifts.

Why It Matters

Amy’s story is proof that success doesn’t always look like the corner office. Sometimes good work means stepping out of what’s comfortable and walking in faith toward something unknown—but truer to who you are.

She’s building a business, yes. But more than that, she’s building people.

And that’s the kind of work that multiplies.
