THREADS

You may have heard people talking about Threads on Instagram and you may have even downloaded it for yourself. Don’t want to be left behind of course! Here’s what our Lead Social Consultant, Krissy Bodnovich, has to say about Threads so far…

What I like about it…

It’s really easy to to sign up and get started.

Because it’s built off of the Instagram app, it’s linked to your account. It will auto-import all of your info and it will even instantly follow your Following from Instagram. No one likes to start from nothing, so this is an awesome feature.

Side note: if you don’t have an IG account, you cannot sign up for the new platform.

It’s a huge shift from the visual content we’re used to.

I’m still seeing images, videos, and gifs on the platform but I’ve yet to see any graphics. This is interesting because it feels way more personal. As a company, it’s time to get creative and really personify your brand.

As of now, there is no paid advertising.

I feel that it will come eventually but for now, users are in control of what they see. Your organic presence is EVERYTHING!

What type of content should we be sharing?

We have a character limit of 500 so go wild with that. The content will vary for everyone, so I’m not here to tell you that… however, here’s some ideas that could potentially help you drive engagement.*

*Please remember this platform is new to everyone, including me, so we’re all figuring it out as we go.

As I mentioned earlier, it’s a great platform to really personify your brand and connect with your audience on a deeper level. Here’s how I would go about doing that:

-Lists and tips in a short, easily digestible format.

-Relevant news or trends if you want to be the go-to source for information of that manner.

-Thought-provoking questions

-What’s on your mind? Spill it!

-Quotes that align with your core values.

-Pictures of what you’re doing right now. Keep it interesting!

Right now, users are in control of what kind of content we’re posting to Threads so keep it light and fun. Things will continue to transform as time goes on, just like every other platform. But we suggest you get in now while we’re all learning!
