Welcome back to A Good Pour! As we close out Season 2, I’m so excited to share some of the most inspiring moments from this season. We’ve heard from incredible guests who remind us what it truly means to do good work, serve others, and use our unique gifts to make a lasting impact.
In this compilation episode, we look back on the stories that highlight the power of relationships, connection, and being intentional with the work we do. Whether in business, nonprofits, or everyday life, good work always stems from passion, purpose, and the people we help.
One of the most powerful lessons shared this season came from a guest who talked about how vital it is to listen. It’s so easy to get caught up in the rush of things, but true connection comes when we listen more than we speak. As Jason Elkins put it, aim for a 70/30 split—listen 70% of the time, talk 30%. This simple mindset shift can transform your relationships, your business, and the way you serve others.
I also loved hearing from guests who emphasized the importance of staying true to our values. From core values in business to honoring God in every decision, our values are the compass that guides us. When we lead with integrity and serve others, it’s amazing how the right people and opportunities show up. As one guest shared, “If I want to talk about serving others, how am I serving my employees?” It’s a reminder that good work starts with those closest to us and ripples outward.
This season also highlighted the power of giving. It’s not just about financial contributions, but about investing time, energy, and resources into others. I was inspired by the example of one guest who worked tirelessly to support those in need after a disaster, always focused on making the community thrive. Their dedication reminded me that good work is often about showing up when it’s hard, especially when others need us most.
Another takeaway from this season was the importance of always learning and growing. A major study on what constitutes a good life concluded that strong, positive relationships and continuous learning are two of the most crucial factors. This aligns perfectly with the idea that doing good work is a lifelong commitment—it’s not about being perfect but about showing up, learning from others, and continuously striving to make a difference.
As we look ahead to 2025, I hope these stories inspire you to keep doing the good work you’re already doing, or maybe to start that project or initiative you’ve been dreaming about. Whether you’re a business owner, nonprofit leader, or just someone looking to make a difference in your community, remember: good work is about showing up, serving others, and making a positive impact in the world around you.
Thank you for joining me for another season of A Good Pour. I can’t wait to bring you even more stories, tips, and inspiration in the new year. Until then, keep pouring into the good work, and keep sharing your own good story. See you in 2025!
