Welcome back to A Good Pour! If you’ve been listening, you might have noticed something new—our very own jingle! It’s been such a fun and meaningful addition to the podcast, and today, I get to share the story behind it.
I had the absolute joy of working with two dear friends, Liz Shea and Jenny Slate Lee, to create this jingle, and let me tell you—it was an experience I’ll never forget. If you’ve ever wondered how a simple idea turns into something beautiful and lasting, keep reading.
A Musical Friendship
Liz and Jenny have been a part of my life for years, and their musical backgrounds run deep. Jenny grew up in a legendary Nashville music family—her father, Johnny Slate, produced for country music greats like Tim McGraw and Jo Dee Messina. Music is simply in her DNA. Liz, on the other hand, was born into a family of educators but found her passion in performing and songwriting at an early age. These two women bring not just incredible talent to the table but also hearts full of passion for storytelling through music.
The Idea That Sparked It All
When I decided that A Good Pour needed a jingle, I knew exactly who to call. I wanted something that felt like home—warm, inviting, and centered on connection. We started with one simple thought: the best conversations happen over a drink. Whether it’s coffee, tea, or something a little stronger, the act of gathering together and sharing stories is at the heart of what we do here.
I sent over a document with some inspiration—words, themes, and feelings I wanted the jingle to capture. And let me tell you, what Liz and Jenny came up with was pure magic.
The Creative Process
Liz and Jenny took my words and ran with them, focusing on the feeling of community and the simple joy of sharing a moment. They experimented with sounds—coffee percolating, a cup setting down, even a little hand clap here and there. (And yes, we spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to find the perfect pouring sound that didn’t sound too much like a restroom. We laughed a lot.)
The lyrics came fast—“bring your cup, be filled, find what you’re looking for”—simple, inviting, and full of meaning. Jenny worked on the track, layering harmonies and adding in instruments, and before I knew it, I was sitting in her studio, listening to the finished product with tears in my eyes.
The Power of Good Work
This experience reminded me why I love what I do. Marketing, music, storytelling—it’s all about using our gifts to create something that brings people together. Good work happens when we pour into each other, when we bring our talents to the table, and when we create something meaningful that outlives us. That’s exactly what this jingle represents.
Filling Your Own Cup
We always say that to pour into others, you have to be full yourself. Liz and Jenny shared how they take care of themselves—whether it’s carving out time for prayer and meditation, teaching the next generation of musicians, or just making music for the love of it. Their stories are such a beautiful reminder that creativity isn’t just about producing—it’s about being present, filling up, and finding joy in the process.
So, if you haven’t heard the jingle yet, go listen! And if you ever need a custom song—whether for a brand, a special occasion, or just to capture something meaningful—Liz and Jenny are the ones to call.
Thanks for being here, friends. Keep filling your cup, keep creating, and keep pouring into the good work. Until next time!
