My local community college is hosting a Warhol exhibit this summer. All around town are posters, billboards, sidewalk graphics, inspired-photo locations and more. We’re being immersed in the joy of bright, bold colors and graphics.

What should you do as a marketing professional about these trends? Here are some things to keep in mind:
- Following trends show that you are in touch and engaged, not stuck in the same old, same old. Try to stay up-to-date with what’s going on in the world around you.
- Update and refresh your brand’s graphics to reflect what’s current.
- But be thoughtful and intentional, don’t do something just for the sake of doing it. Your graphic designs should be the result of careful consideration of your brand’s values and existing image.
- Use only what you need. Make the design you own. Don’t try to incorporate every aspect of a trend all at once. It might only be the use of color. Or the way you handle a type treatment. People can spot copycats so create your own take on the trend.
