Welcome back to A Good Pour! I’m Katherine Good, founder of Good Circle Marketing, and today’s episode is extra special. Noah Corals, a senior at Pope Prep and our Good Circle Marketing intern, is joining me as a co-host. Together, we sat down with Felecia Lewis, Associate Executive Director of Unlimited Potential, to discuss their incredible work serving our community.
What is Unlimited Potential?
Since 2003, Unlimited Potential has been a beacon of hope for families and individuals in need. What began as a ministry of First Baptist Church has grown into a nonprofit offering essential resources like food, skill development, and mentoring. Under Felecia’s leadership since 2020, the organization has expanded its reach, becoming a vital support system for Sumner County.
Felecia shared a powerful story about a man who received one of their food boxes and told her, “Last night was my last meal.” It’s moments like this that showcase the impact of their mission: providing hope when it’s needed most.
Noah’s Take: Choosing Unlimited Potential
Noah selected Unlimited Potential as his senior internship project because of their broad, compassionate approach to community challenges. “It’s not just one issue—they tackle multiple problems with real solutions,” he explained. Noah was especially moved by their inclusivity, as they serve people of all ages and backgrounds.
The Struggles of Nonprofit Marketing
One challenge nonprofits face is getting the word out about their work. As Noah pointed out, it’s not a lack of interest but the difficulty of standing out among so many organizations. Felecia agreed, emphasizing the importance of volunteers and word-of-mouth to spread their message.
Asking for Help
Felecia admitted that asking for help isn’t natural for her, but it’s become essential for the success of Unlimited Potential. “You have to step outside your comfort zone,” she said. And that’s a lesson she imparts to those they serve, showing that asking for support is a strength, not a weakness.
A Call to Love Nonprofit Leaders
Our nonprofits do extraordinary work, often with limited resources and a small team. As a community, we can do more than write checks (though those are crucial!). Let’s also find ways to show appreciation—volunteering, sending a thank-you note, or offering encouragement can mean the world to nonprofit leaders like Felecia.
Thank you, Felecia and Noah, for joining us on A Good Pour. Your dedication inspires us all to think about how we can do good work together.
